Bring more power to Excel …

There will be a lot more articles in this series, including curated content from others. But this is a simple start.

Part of a series:

  1. Introduction. About the series.
  2. Structure. The key to success.
  3. Navigation. Sheets and more.

… and be more productive in Excel

Structure is necessary but insufficient on its own. The problem is that Excel just gives the developer too much flexibility: it’s a blank sheet of paper without a right hand edge. You can, of course, just be disciplined. I for one am not too good at that. There’s something better.

Navigation is the critical piece. If you can (entirely) navigate a spreadsheet it’s likely you can fix other problems. But therein lies the rub; a perfectly-structured workbook might have many sheets and navigating beyond 10 is hard. We give guidance, enabling you to produce a robust solution.
